Ruishine

LGL-P-8

Meet Ruishine, the remarkable Eublepharis angramainyu, or Iranian Eyelid Gecko hailing from the Ilam province, a cousin of the renowned Leopard Gecko species. Towering over a foot in length, Ruishine's imposing size commands attention wherever he goes.

From the moment I welcomed him into my care, Ruishine's love for dubia roaches became evident. His preference for these tasty treats was unwavering, showcasing his discerning palate and voracious appetite. Despite his immense size, Ruishine's food-driven nature can be a tad intimidating at times.

With plans to breed him in 2025, Ruishine was destined to be a cornerstone of my breeding program. However, fate dealt a heartbreaking blow when his intended mate, Rhapsody, passed away from a prolapse in 2023, a tragically common occurrence in his species.

Despite the setbacks, Ruishine remains a sweet, confident, and endlessly entertaining companion. His endearing personality and humorous antics never fail to bring joy to those around him.

Enclosure

In an effort to be transparent, we share photos of where our geckos actually live. We don't believe geckos should spend any time outside of quarantine on barren paper towels and minimal space. All our healthy adult geckos are provided with loose substrate, cycled enrichment, and a varied diet.

Ruishine's Enclosure

Size: 95x45x60cm

Substrate: Arcadia Earth Mix Arid

Due to his size, Ruishine is housed in a larger enclosure than my Leopard Geckos. He is also piloting the Arcadia Lumenize Shadedweller for me. He loves nothing more that trying to attack the pigeons who try and roost on the window he can see from his enclosure.
