Morph Identification Service

Ever wondered what morph your leopard gecko is? Whether you've just brought home a rescue, picked up a gecko from a pet shop with a vague label, or simply want to put a name to those gorgeous patterns - this is for you.

I've been keeping and studying leopard geckos for over a decade, and I love nothing more than geeking out over morph identification. This is a free community service, offered because I genuinely enjoy it.

How does this work?

What I can tell you

I'll identify the visual morph - what your gecko looks like based on its colouration, pattern, and eye type. That's it. I cannot confirm het status, predict offspring, or provide anything useful for breeding decisions. Please don't ask me to.

I might not be certain

Many morphs are line bred and vary hugely in expression; others are only easy to identify in young geckos - a mack snow will often look normal as an adult. Some geckos are genuinely difficult to pin down, and I'll always tell you honestly if I'm not sure rather than guess with false confidence.

This is just for fun

My identification is not a guarantee, not a certificate, and not something to rely on for anything beyond satisfying your curiosity. It's gecko chat between enthusiasts.

A note on manners

This is a community service offered in good faith. If you're here to test me, catch me out, or be unpleasant about it - this probably isn't for you. Everyone else is very welcome!

Before you Submit

Photo Guide

Good photos make all the difference. Please submit both of the following:

Eye photo - close up, in focus, showing the eye clearly. Natural light or a bright room works best.

Full body overhead shot - your gecko laid flat, well lit, shot from directly above. Avoid flash if possible as it washes out colour and pattern.

Blurry, dark, or partial photos make identification really difficult, and I may have to come back to you for better ones before I can help.

Response Times

I'll do my best to respond within a few days, but I can't guarantee a specific turnaround. I'm one person with geckos of my own to look after. I appreciate your patience.

Say Thanks

This service is completely free, but if I help you out and you'd like to say thanks, a small tip is always appreciated and helps keep Leopard Geckos London running.
